The Jackson Lab, a partner in the Maine-INBRE program, is pleased to open the application period for our two, 2017 Big Genomics Data Skills Training courses, funded by the NIH BD2K initiative. As grant funded activities there is no fee to attend and housing is included; however, you will need to cover your own travel. If you teach at an HBCU or Minority-serving institution (by Dept. of Education criteria) we may be able to provide a modest travel award.
The course for undergraduate professors (e.g. faculty at INBRE Undergraduate partner institutions) will be held at JAX in Maine, May 22-26. If you primarily teach undergraduates at a college or small/regional university (not many PhDs awarded) then please apply here: Undergraduate Professor course. If you have questions regarding eligibility, please emailĀ Charles.wray@jax.org The application is just a few questions with text answers; you will be asked to submit a CV, so have that handy. Please note: we know that pairs of faculty from the same institution can support each other as they build Big Data capacity at their home institution. We encourage pairs of applications from the same institution. |
