Submission Deadlines:

Pilot Project Awards
For researchers looking for support for new research direction:
Pilot Project awards are mentored, one-year grants (up to $40K) that provide seed funding to support new research directions. Pilot Project award applications must address an important research question relevant to NIH’s goals. Applicants are not limited to topical focus areas; any proposals addressing the NIH’s mission are welcome.
There are 4 types of awards under the Pilot Mechanism:
- Take-off Awards
- Booster Awards
- High End Core Facility Awards
- Delaware Data Science Awards
Research Project Awards
For researchers looking to develop research programs:
Research Project awards are mentored, two-year grants that provide seed funding to develop research programs of early stage and NIH new investigators. Research Project award applications must address an important research question relevant to NIH’s goals. Applicants are not limited to topical focus areas; any proposals addressing scientific questions relevant to NIH’s mission are welcome.
