Professional Development

Biomedical research requires a competent workforce able to fulfill diverse roles, ranging from doctoral-level investigators who develop research programs to bachelors/masters-trained technical staff who support this effort, as well as clinical fellows and scientists who apply new knowledge to drug/clinical paradigm development, and individuals with a high level of scientific training to effectively fill key administrative roles.

The Professional Development and Education (PDE) core’s statewide impact is substantial, supporting efforts throughout Delaware that inspire students to pursue a range of biomedical careers and providing the training needed for them to effectively enter the pipeline to Delaware’s biomedical workforce.

There are a host of opportunities for researchers, post-docs, graduate students and faculty members to refine and develop skills to increase not only professional capabilities but also those of your group, department or institution. Leadership development and skill-based programs are available through a variety of sources and Delaware INBRE’s goal is to provide a place to begin to locate these sources or to find new sources that will further enhance those skill sets.
